Inclusive Music - Create Music With Technology

This two session project works as an alternative introduction to GarageBand for your students. We consider the relationship between ska and reggae before working in small ensembles to create high-impact performances. In addition, the structure of the project, with everyone learning all the parts before taking on a specific role, as well as the two extensions (soloing and re-writing lyrics), can be used to cover any song. This one has been chosen for its simplicity, fun groove, and potential for soloing over. The two key learning outcomes here are the ability to play off-beats and the ability to lock together two different melody lines within a chord pattern.
